A Mindful Happy Hour for Your Next Chapter

Connect. Reflect. Grow.
A small, monthly gathering for women navigating change, personal growth, and transitions in midlife and beyond.

Life at this stage can be tender, confusing, freeing, heavy, sometimes all at once. Shelf Discovery is a space to explore new perspectives, share thoughts, and see life differently, without pressure or pretense.

Led by therapist and author Jodi Baretz, LCSW, each session centers on a topic relevant to the joys and challenges of getting older, supported by an optional book or short reflection to spark conversation. Reading is optional. Come curious, not prepared.

How It Works

Monthly Meetings: Last Tuesday of every month (except holidays)
Feb 24, Mar 24, Apr 28, May 26, June 23
5:00–6:00 PM ET | Held on Zoom (link sent after registration)

Each session includes:

  • A topic for reflection and discussion
  • Optional book or short reading to support the conversation
  • Gentle exercises or prompts to reflect on the theme
  • Space to notice patterns, share perspectives, and connect

Topics Can Include:

  • Getting out of your own way
  • Balancing parenting adult kids
  • Caring for and grieving parents
  • “Do I matter?” and making life meaningful
  • Managing difficult thoughts and emotions

What to Expect

  • This is not therapy and not a traditional book club.
  • No pressure to share deeply
  • No homework
  • No emotional heavy-lifting required
  • Expect meaningful conversation, gentle insight, and an hour that feels grounding and surprisingly nourishing.

Who It’s For

Women who want:

  • Connection without oversharing
  • Growth without homework
  • Insight without overwhelm
  • Thoughtful conversation about midlife and beyond

Who It May Not Be For

  • Looking for therapy or clinical treatment
  • Expecting a highly structured curriculum or heavy book analysis
  • Wanting emotional deep dives or heavy processing

Why I Created This

I wanted a space for thoughtful women to gather without pressure, without fixing, without performing.

Just connection.
